Oxford

We also got to spend a day in Oxford while we were on holiday. It is a beautiful and very old city.

Wouldn't you agree?

We went to Christ Church, one of the colleges within the University of Oxford. There were so many beautiful things to see there, but one of our favorites was this dining hall, or Great Hall. (The dining hall in Harry Potter was inspired by this one). It was a huge, beautiful room with portraits of many famous people on the walls. Wouldn't it be cool to eat in there?

We found a little courtyard to run around in for a minute. It just gets so hard to walk quietly in all of these old buildings!

There was some dirt there, so we made sure we made good use of that!

We ended our day by heading over to The Eagle and Child, a pub where the Inklings (CS Lewis, JRR Tolkien, etc) used to meet. The little plaque above Mommy's head told us that was the very table where they met! How cool!

Then we had the adventure of taking a super crowded train back to our flat. We didn't even get a seat! Thankfully trains are fun no matter where you are on them!
