Little Artists

Today was the day I have been waiting for since we moved here. Mommy finally let us get out the paints!

She keeps trying to get the perfect picture of the two of us (bless her heart). She told us there was a bug on her head in hopes we would both look at her. We were both quite concerned.

Back to work. We had this giant box as the last remains of our moving boxes. It was a perfect thing to paint!

We worked hard for a long time!

See, look what I did!

Riley Cates was also very proud of her work.

I was very intent on painting this little box. I got the whole thing covered and then made it my goal to paint the entire big box. Mommy said that was a little too ambitious!

Our friend Sophia stopped by and helped us paint for a bit, and sadly, we forgot to take pictures. But here is our final product!

Now where can we hang this thing?

To Market, To Market

One of our fun Saturday morning activities is to head to the Hexham Market to get lots of yummy fruits and vegetables. There was a lot more going on when we got into town this week!

There were lots of booths set up with people selling things. Daddy bought some pepperoni that looks really yummy!

The normal fruit and veggie people were there too.

They heard me and Riley Cates talking about how much we love pears, and they gave us some to eat!

Yum!

Here is a picture of some of the other stands and people, and you can even see the pretty Hexham Abbey in the background. By the way, an abbey is a church. It sounds like Aunt Abby, and we were very disappointed that we were not getting to see her when Mommy told us we were walking by the Abbey!

I loved all of the decorations hanging from the buildings! I also loved the street dancers. They were fun to watch!

We all had to stick together while walking around! Safety first!

We took one of the side streets to check out a park. They had a map to look at, which made me super happy!

Aren't all the flowers so pretty?

We sure do live in a beautiful place!

Rainy Day Fun

You can't let a little thing like a rainy day get in your way of having fun around here! That's what umbrellas and wellies are for!

They keep you nice and dry even when it is sprinkling a little.

You can still have adventures like finding pretty flowers.

And then, of course, there's the singing in the rain! ("Do you want to build a snowman?")

It can be exhausting though, just to warn you.

You may need to take a nap right in the driveway!

See all of the fun we would have missed out on if we let a little rain stop us?!

Butterflies

Grannie Pammie sent us a fun art project to do--Making butterflies! Riley Cates was very serious about doing this correctly.

It's tricky to get the stickers on there just right!

You really have to concentrate.

Did I mention that these butterflies are key chains? After the stickers are all put on, you have to add the key chain part.

And since we don't have many keys. we thought it was great fun to hook them to our shirt.

See how fun it is?!

I told Mommy that Daddy would be so proud of what I made (and I was right!).

Here you can see a finished product... and something else that Grannie Pammie sent Riley Cates! Fancy bunny ear barrettes!

Making Tea

We have learned a whole lot of things since we have been living in England. One of them is how to make tea properly. Mommy ran to check on something this morning, and when she came back, she was surprised to see that we had gotten out everything for our tea time!
First, you turn on the kettle.

Then you get out some mugs. Don't worry, you can change your mind about which one you'll use later (we always do). You have to put the tea bag in the cup and then add the hot water.

After a bit of stirring (and LOTS of milk for us), you are good to go!

Cheers!

And now, for a few selfies. I have been working on my photography skills, and I am sure you will be impressed.
I call this "Looking Away."

And this one is "Blue Eye."

I didn't say that I was great at naming them...

Hunting for Eggs

On Friday we went to visit some of our friends and have an Easter Egg Hunt! Hooray! And these were awesome eggs... made out of chocolate!

We were ready with our baskets!

And had some help from the big kids.

I liked filling my basket with candy!

Riley Cates had fun too, but she thought she might go faster on the toy tractor. She didn't.

She also thought that small rocks were just as fun as candy eggs! Silly girl!

It was super fun when we got to test out some of the candy! It was just as good as we thought it would be!

What a fun day! And it even warmed up enough that we took off our sweaters and long sleeves! Hooray!

Big Boy Haircut

Mommy said my hair was getting out of control and something must be done. So off to the barber we went today!
(If you look closely, you can see Daddy getting his hair cut two chairs down from me!)

I was in the middle of reading a book when it was my turn, so the nice lady let me bring it to the chair and keep reading! She was great! She kept asking me about the book and to show her the pictures. I did have to blow hair off of the pages a few times!

See how handsome?! I think I weigh 5 pounds less now! And Mommy said I look so grown up.

Grown up or not, this lollipop was amazing. I got it because I did such a good job!

The lady was so nice that she gave Riley Cates one too! You know that made Sissy happy! She kept asking when she was going to get her hair cut, but we told her she didn't have quite enough to cut yet. One day, Riley Cates!
