Police Visit

We had a very fun visitor stop by our house! This nice police officer was going to visit one of our neighbors for tea, and when she saw us playing in the yard, she pulled her car down near us. She showed us how loud the sirens can be (thankfully she warned us to cover our ears). Let me tell you, they are loud when you are standing that close!

Then she let me get in her car and turn the lights on! I had to push three different buttons!

And I guess she thought I was being a little naughty today, so she handcuffed me.

But don't worry, it was just for fun! I wasn't really in trouble!

That was a fun surprise and a very kind police officer!

Library Time

I love libraries! I have been talking about going for a while now, so we finally found the Hexham library this week! Daddy and Riley Cates found some good books to read together.

And I spent some time flipping through the books to find a few favorites to take home... because I have my very own library card now! Isn't that exciting?!? They even let me check out a movie!

It's not a huge library, but they had lots of good books to choose from, and it was quite a pretty building!

I'm already thinking about what books I will check out next time!

Excitement in the Neighborhood

Over the past few days, our neighbors have had some work done on their house. That means lots of fun things to watch for us! I can't tell you how much time we spent outside watching all of the construction going on!

And I'm not sure why I look so grumpy in this picture. Perhaps because Mommy interrupted my viewing for a picture? I don't know because I had lots of fun watching!

Stickers

Wait. You mean that's not what we are supposed to do with stickers?

But we are so proud of our work! (And our striped socks)

By the way, it was much more fun to stick them on the floor than it was to pick them up...

Sandbox Fun

A few weeks ago we got a sandbox! Yay! (Mommy decided that our digging in the yard might not be the best idea...) While Mommy and Daddy encouraged us to keep the sand in the box, I thought it was fun to make tire tracks with my tractor.

Don't get me wrong. It's also really fun to dig, dig, dig!

Riley Cates loves the turtle and talks about it all of the time! She wants to go out there whether it is hot or cold, raining or sunny!

Can you blame her? It is super fun!

Fourth of July in England

This 4th of July was quite unlike ones we have had in the past. It was actually a bit chilly... Can you imagine? After being in Mississippi and South Carolina for all of our other Independence Days, I couldn't imagine being chilly in July!

We decided to have our own cook out and enjoyed some yummy hamburgers and homemade french fries for supper.

We made an "Uncle Sam" (on a casual day--no top hat). Yummy strawberries and blueberries!

And while Mommy was putting the camera away from the last pictures, Riley Cates discovered Uncle Sam.

Oops! Don't worry, he still tasted good!

Picnic

Today was such a beautiful day that Riley Cates and I begged to have a picnic for supper.

What? We can eat outside?!?

Everything just tastes better when you can eat with this kind of view!

We both actually cleared our plates (and asked for more!), so Mommy and Daddy said that we may have to do this more often!
