Cookies for Breakfast?

A little cookie dough before 9 am never hurt anyone, right?

Right???

Because this stuff is delicious! (Oh, and don't worry, we did actually have breakfast first!)

Riley Cates was feeling the need to balance out the sugar intake, so she opted for an apple. Good girl!

I wouldn't object to everyday starting this way!

Exciting Day!

We had an exciting day in England today! Not only was it a beautiful day with lots of playing outside, but we had some big changes in our house...

Guess who got a big girl bed?!? She was pretty excited about it!

So was I! I told her that she needed to move on over and make room for me! Plenty of room to share, right?

And, of course, this post simply would not be complete without showing you the outfit I picked out for myself today... Fashion statement, indeed. (Like I told Mommy, candy canes make me happy!)

I hope your day was as exciting as ours!

More Walking

Today we went on another walk. Last time we went up the hill from our house, and today we went downhill to explore our village, Fourstones.

Close to our house is the filling station. (And for a fun math lesson from Mommy and Daddy... the gas prices you see are in liters. So if you convert that to gallons and then to dollars, we are paying nearly $9/gallon for gas! Yikes!)

Down the road a little ways is the local pub.

If you walk past the pub and across the railroad tracks, you come to a footpath right beside the Tyne River! It is so pretty!

We walked along the river back towards our house. The views I normally show you are looking out towards the river. Here is a view of our house from the river. We live in one of the houses in the middle clump of houses.

On our walk we saw some pretty cool things. And actually we saw two cool things at once: a train and some sheep! How fun is that?!

I mean, look how close we were to those sheep! They are so funny to watch!

**Yes, I do have a pair of socks on my hand. No, it was not that cold outside today. Yes, I do own a real pair of gloves. These were just fun because I am a 3 year old boy! :)

Fun Things

While there are certainly some hard things about moving across the ocean (like missing family and friends like crazy!), there are also some fun things.
Like getting to use Daddy's tools to help him put things together!

Don't worry. We've got this one.

Once we got those chairs all fixed up, we started missing the train rides in Belgium, so we got to work again! Ta-da!

Oh, but the coolest thing about moving? Bubble wrap! There's always some lying around, and it is so much fun to jump on! You should try it! (But make sure you stick your tongue out like this... it makes it even better!)

Pancake Day!

We love any excuse to eat pancakes at our house! For supper tonight we had homemade lemon-blueberry pancakes and sausage.

Everyone was very happy with the menu!

I think Riley Cates may have had too much pancake fun though...

These Boots Were Made for Walking...

...In rain puddles! Wellies are good for that! Look at me using a new word! (You'll have to ask my Mommy about how I make up words now and tell her that's what they call it in England. She's always telling me new words for things like how they call french fries "chips" here. So I made up my own words, but she says it doesn't work that way! Ha!)

Anyway, this morning we went out for a walk near our house. It was a beautiful morning, and there were plenty of puddles to splash in!

We climbed up in the woods and saw some amazing views.

Like this:

And this:

We even saw a few sheep, but they were too far away to get a good picture. Here are Mommy and Riley Cates near the end of our walk. This is pretty much our backyard! (Our house is one of those in the bottom left corner.) It sure is beautiful! I'm looking forward to lots more walks!

Valentine's Surprise

We got a Valentine's surprise in the mail last night! Now, I know you're thinking that we missed Valentine's Day. But apparently it takes quite a while for things to make it across the ocean! It was fun to celebrate last night, regardless of the reason!

So what was in our fun box? My favorite thing was Cars stickers.

See, I put them on the paper and then put the matching car on top of the sticker.

Riley Cates particularly liked the yogurt and candy covered pretzels. She had pink stuff everywhere after eating just one! Is anybody surprised by that?

We also got new, fun cups!

More Cars for me! Yay!

Thank you, Grannie Pammie, for some fun treats!
