Just Grillin'

What could be the cause of so many excited faces?

Grilling something yummy for supper, of course!

Flashback Friday (for real this time)

I know you have been checking the blog constantly today, waiting for me to tell you the best part about the Great Wolf Lodge. Right? Right.

Well, here is my first glimpse...

An indoor waterpark!!! One glimpse was all I needed! It is off to the water I go! 

I mean, look at this place! A dream come true!

I was a bit cautious at first, but they couldn't get me out of there after a little while! The slides were fun!

And so were these crazy things that squirted water!

We had to walk through the water to get under this mushroom.

And then we took a swim in the wave pool.

There was a huge tree house with lots more water. Daddy and I climbed up in it and squirted the people below!

I went down the big slide ALL BY MYSELF! Everyone was so proud! I loved it so much that I did it again!

Riley Cates couldn't do the giant one, but she did the ones she could! She was super brave... maybe a little TOO brave! 

She loved the water and didn't want anyone to stop her from playing in it!

Oh, I almost forgot about this guy. It was a big snake in the middle of one of the pools, and you could ride on him!

Next to him were the basketball goals. I was a pro! Look at me jumping out of the water to make the shot! (Ignore Daddy's hand!)

Yeah, this is pretty much how I looked every time we had to go. It was just so much fun! Who wants to leave?!

But all things must come to an end. What better way to end it than lunch at Chick-fil-A? I can't think of one! 

And the sign of a great vacation? Yep, within minutes of getting in the car...

And there you have it! It was an awesome family vacation!

Flashback Friday

Oh, wait. It's Thursday. Oh well. The title is cuter that way, so we'll just go with it. Anyway, because I haven't been great about blogging, I have lots of pictures to show you. I mean, I can't believe I haven't even told you about this yet. It was so fun! What was so fun? The Great Wolf Lodge, of course! 

What do you do at the Great Wolf Lodge? I'm so glad you asked! Because, as I mentioned, it was so fun! 

We watched someone make balloon creations (mine was a sword),

Rode on crazy carts,

Ate delicious donuts,

Crawled around like wolves,

Sat on giant bear things, 

(I really tried to eat the stuff on his head. Don't be fooled like I was, it isn't real.)

Drove a pink bus,

Played in the arcade,

Opened doors with our cool bracelets,

(Well, the grown-ups did. I sure did try though!)

Watched Aunt Abby work (on vacation!),

And listened to a bedtime story read by a raccoon.

(Yes, you heard that right. See, there he is!)

Everything was so fun that I often had difficulty getting back to the room and had to be carried!

But there were definitely some tender moments like this one!

So is that all we did? NO!!! There was so much more fun to be had, but it's time for bed now, so I'm going to have to leave you waiting in suspense until tomorrow to find out what else we did! Good night!

Choo-Choo!

Last weekend our travels took us to Houston to visit Aunt Sarah! She took us to this cool place, and guess what I got to ride?!?!? A TRAIN!

First we had to wait in line with our tickets.

Well, Mommy and I had tickets. Daddy, Aunt Sarah, and Riley Cates just watched us. Boy, did they miss out on a good time!

Mommy and I had a lot of fun riding around the pier looking at all of the cool things to do. And we even went through a tunnel! But it's hard to get a picture of those because they are dark. So you'll just have to take my word.

Then we got to ride on this guy:

That was a big ferris wheel! Riley Cates was excited that she got to ride this time!

We had such a fun day!

CORN!

Since all of our fans have been asking for more pictures and blog posts, we don't want to deprive you any longer! We are back by popular demand! I know you are all excited! We have been busy over the past few weeks (months), which means that we have lots of fun things to catch you up on! We just got back in town yesterday, so we'll let Riley Cates tell you about the fun she had at lunch at Popeye's. You never know where you will find an adventure!

I love corn, but I have never seen it quite like this. What am I supposed to do? How do I get these things off?

And why is there a big stick in there?

Should I take it out?

Or maybe it will be easier to take the kernels off this way...

Or is it a straw? Maybe I can drink it?

Yeah, that doesn't seem to work either. Please pass the french fries!
